After a disastrous bird hunting trip, Roy decided he had to have his own well-trained bird dog. As luck would have it, Marty and Roy discovered their first Vizsla, “Brick”, in January 2002. They trained him and Brick completed his AKC Championship at nine months with five consecutive Major wins including Best of Breed. Brick went on to win Best of Breed at the 2003 Eukanuba National Dog Show when he was two years old. Brick finished his Master Hunter title in 2005. In May 2006 he was ranked #3 Vizsla nationally. In 2008, he won first place Stud Dog at the Vizsla Club of America National Dog Show.

Following Brick, we imported Riika and Kaari from Finland. Riika’s mother and grandmother have earned advanced hunting titles in Finland. Kaari’s mother is an accomplished agility dog. Owning Vizslas has been a great retirement hobby. Marty and Roy's lives have been changed for the better.

Roy Sanford

• Trained and handled four Vizslas to earn AKC MH titles, and one Vizsla to earn a SH title. Has instructed and helped numerous people train and handle their dogs.
• Is an AKC Pointing Breed Hunting Test Judge.
• He originated the scoring matrix that appears in the current AKC Rules and Regulations for Pointing Breed Hunting Tests.
• Serves on the Vizsla Club of Colorado Board and the Rocky Mountain Chapter NAVHDA Board
• Member of the Vizsla Club of America
• Recipient of the 2011 Vizsla Club of America Outstanding Sportsmanship Award

Marty Sanford

• She served as the VP of the Vizsla Club of Colorado. Is a member of the Vizsla Club of America
• She published an article on training and handling dogs for AKC hunting tests. This article has appeared in newsletters in several states.
• She trained and handled Tuurk to earn his AKC Conformation Championship with four majors out of the Bred by Exhibitor Class. Also, she trained and handled Tuurk to earn his Rally Excellent title.
• She is interested in training for rally, obedience, and tracking events.
